Every summer, neighbors fill Wood Park with lawn chairs and kids dance on the grass while live music plays. Every fall, tractors rumble through the village and families gather at the Walter A. Wood Tractor & Agriculture Show — the same park named for the company that once put Hoosick Falls on the map.

Those nights and those Saturdays are more than entertainment. They are how a small town stays a community: people seeing each other face to face, local farms and businesses front and center, and the next generation growing up knowing this place has a story worth keeping.

To make sure those gatherings continue, the Hoosick Armory is partnering with Hoosick Events as a 501(c)(3). Our own Kevin O’Malley has joined the Armory board and will lead the sponsor and fundraising work for the Summer Concert Series and the Walter A. Wood Tractor & Agriculture Show. Sponsors can now receive a charitable tax deduction for supporting events that belong to all of us.

The historic Armory on Church Street has always been more than a building. It is a community gathering place — scouts, pickleball, town court, neighbors walking the old drill floor in winter. Linking it with Hoosick Events is one more way we use what we already have to protect the life we love here: free concerts, farm heritage, volunteer hours, and the simple habit of showing up for one another.
